Even when they did the Silverado SS it was a extended cab AWD 6.0 set up. I hope one day they will let us have a loaded SS Silverado Reg cab with leather and all the good stuff in the LTZ and a 6.2 baby! Come on GM lets get it started!

If I wanted a hot rod pick up I'd get a diesel with a tune. Problem is with that much hp/tq the 2wd's suffer from major traction problems and the reason why diesel hot rodder's stick to 4wd's with auto's so you can do 20psi boosted launches which make it almost untouchable on the street from a dig.

Remember how un-impressive the SRT-10 Ram was?

If I wanted GM to build a fast pickup, I wouldn't be asking for a small Silverado ... I'd be asking for this 6.2 in a Colorado. But to each their own.

The problem, in truck circles, with all-out tunes for ultimate numbers is that you lean 'em out so much that their towing capacities actually suffer... Strap on a gardening trailer, or a part-capacity load, and ping-ping-ping! The "numbers" improvement comes at the expense of the "fat" fuel curves put in place to safeguard a to-capacity towing/hauling intended use.

Tunes for straight-line performance? OK. For regular truck duties? Not so...

GM lost sale on me because they won't put this motor in the reg cab pick up. I just picked up a Ram R/T and love it.

Huh? I'm not talking about getting a aftermarket tune for performance I'm referring to the factory e85 tune like the 5.3. Although since I posted that I read the 6.2 doesn't come with a e85 tune stock. Either way that's ALOT of torque for a small gas n/a engine on pump gas.

What kept you from getting a regular cab Tundra assuming that you test drove one, especially after considering there was no aftermarket tuning available on Ram's until recently?

The few Tundra's I've seen at the track are pretty fast especially the one with a 2.3L TVS and killer chiller. But it cant hook up cuz he thought 2wd would be quicker

I may be interested in getting one of these trucks maybe next year. Being a camaro owner, I have all my fun with that. And I don't haul anything. So for me I have no interest in the 6.2, I'd go 5.3 and save the gas. Hell I'd even consider the V6 if I could get it with a quad cab.
