Pretty much. If this were going to be produced, it'd be much simpler (and cheaper) to skin it as a new Monte Carlo.

Well yeah, because it is. IIRC, the GTO was based on the VZ Monaro (which was the generation before the Commodore that gave us the G8).

It looks cool but unless it's offered with a manual gearbox I have zero interest in owning one.

Definitely doesn't look american, but it is an interesting alternative to the sedan.

The design and trim details need to be cleaned up some; With some smart trim changes this coupe could have potential.
