Translation: We're going to start retooling our production lines for the 5.0, and we've already made more than enough 4.6/5.7's to make it to the end of the production year.

Not always. In 07 and 08 they made 10,000 units each year. The 03/04 Terminator was actually more rare then the GT500.

I guess all the Camaro sales got Ford thinking there wouldn't be any buyers left for the GT500!

Autoblog updated their story

Quote:
*UPDATE: We reached out to Ford to ascertain the veracity of this Team Shelby document, and they have categorically denied the website users' claims. 2010 Mustang GT500 production has NOT been limited to 2,000 units, and the report is inaccurate. Ford does not report volume figures for the GT500

Yeah, that's what it was. I think Ford tries to market their cars to a different segment of society than it seems GM is doing with the Camaro.

You must have inside information...

Are you the bike cop, the leather biker, the cowboy, the construction worker or the Indian?

Yeah, I thought my reference was obvious, but I guess not to all.

BTW, this rumor was debunked almost as fast as it hit the internet.

The current situation is that most of the allocations have been used up and it is hard to find a Dealer that has an allocation to place an order for you.

There are however some Dealer stock cars starting to show up in pretty good quantity on Ebay. With some careful shopping they can be had for MSRP and below. Not many buyers are willing to pay ADM at the moment.

I finally got my VIN # this morning 1ZVBP8JS8A5140222
so I should be seeing my car in another six weeks. The two week vacation shut down and the airbag hold up are now history and the plant is cranking them out at a pretty good clip now.

The big question is when will Ford release any more allocations. May not until they see how the ones on the Dealer lots are selling. I think we will probably see at least the 2000 cars built but not as many as the 2009 model which I think was around 3,000 plus cars.

Steve
