Glad to see nothing about Kansas or Missouri on that list. I guess I'll have to be more careful when driving to shows in Illinois...$1,000 for a first offense! That's criminal

Exhibition of Speed and Acceleration is such a bs ticket. It's completely subjective! What's stopping law enforcement from writing us tickets every time we get on the highway? That's one of the best parts of my morning commute!

saw this article yesterday. $1,000 first offense is crazy... sure wish i was Donald Trump rich.. then i could speed all i want and not give a rats mass
yes, this is correct.. i don't know the term that they'd use but they could tag it reckless.. id hope no one is next to you doing the same thing... that'd be even worse |

I understand that I have been known to speed in excess. And although I did not enjoy the speeding tickets I have received, I understand that most of them I deservered. What pisses me off when it obvious that they are set up to make money off of you. Like not trimming trees so they block speed limit / stop signs. I feel the pain of these states to an extent, Houston has the most speed traps in the country, with the next on the list having 1/3 of the amount of speed traps.

I think most cops will write a ticket when accelerating rapidly if there are squealing tires and or loss of traction which means loss control of a vehicle and is a reckless ticket if they feel like writing it such way. Ive never been messed with for rapidly accelerating from a stoplight as long as I didn't go past the posted speed limit. Oh and anyone traveling through Va don't pass on the right its a automatic wreckless driving ticket, Don't ask me how I know LOL.

There was a time when it was about public safety. Unfortunately nowadays it's more about revenue. Arguably, if you're going to speed, your only defense is a quality radar detector and a lot of common sense when using it.

I'm starting to see more stealth cops driving around in not only unmarked cars, but cars that look like normal civilian cars..
Complete with a normal license place with actual tabs. All the lights are completely hidden. "Stealth" cop cars I've seen (and only knew they were cops because the lights going off): Lifted Black Ford F250 Quad Cab with a black tool box in the bed White pearl newer Jeep Grand Cherokee Cyber Gray Metallic 2012 Camaro SS Dodge Charger Chevy Malibu Chevy Impala

The Utah Highway Patrol has started driving the newer Ford Taurus which are very hard to spot. Like watching for soccer moms in minivans.

Well, I know this is an unpopular opinion on this subject but as I've said before... if you don't want speeding tickets, don't speed. The state posts a speed "limit" and then (almost always) allows you another 5-7 mph over that before they will pull you over. They even put up special signs in construction and school zones (fines usually doubled), warning you. What else do you want them to do?
IF YOU DON'T WANT A SPEEDING TICKET... DON'T SPEED!!!!!
