Test Drove a '13 5.0. My quick review. - Page 2

that tranny is real smooth i haven't drove an ls3 but i drove a 5.0 the clutch is like butter its nearly impossible to stall out lol but i have a friend that has a 5.0 wit shorty headers full exhaust intake and a tune and some suspension work and he has gone threw 3 trannys and he has a performance clutch and idk maybe he sucks at driving but i doubt it but he hates it cause of that so he's trading it in... i guess maybe 5.0 trannys are weak i know the 2011 and under are bad but he even got 2012 tranny from the dealer new and it still didn't hold...

Ford trannys have sucked for years. We switched from Ford to Chevy at work for all our work trucks because the owner got tired of replacing transmissions. We have been running Chevy's since 05 and haven't replaced one tranny and we have some trucks with well over 200k on them.

I realize this is about Mustangs but in the end it's all Ford crap.

mine was a "base" so no track apps. Recaro seats were amazing. Car was amazing but that flaw in the trans .... I wanted a boss but couldn't afford one, i bought a mustang as close to a boss as i could get. added the boss intake, a cold air intake and a tune and it did 416 at the wheels with a tune that had a huge dip in power about 5000 rpm. if you do test drive that boss, you may fall in love. the interior in those mustangs is simply horrid, though.

well, lol, i've had a couple of chevy trans. crap out on me, but i think ford and chevy both have good offerings at the time being.
