In 2014/2015, the Seattle area is supposed to get the Supercharging stations for Tesla. The thing I don't know about the Tesla is what kind of AWD system it might have for rain/snowy conditions. I'd say AWD/4WD is my main "want" out of whatever daily driver I get. I did find out the Q5 has a towing capacity of 4400 (according to the salesman), yet elsewhere I had seen it as 6600 like the Q7.

I drove an A6 for almost 2 years. Well I should rephrase that, I owned an A6 for almost 2 years. If I take out all the time the car spend at the dealer for warranty work it comes to about 1.5 years of driving an A6. Every time it was something else, so not a candidate for lemon laws (plenty of electrical issues). Now I do have to state, that when and if the car drove it was absolutely fabulous. Only advise I have is to either buy new or get a good extended warranty.

I do have to say that the Hybrid I drove today was surprisingly nice to drive, though disconcerting to have no engine noise when I pressed the start button. Same thing would go with the Tesla...might take some getting used to.

If you can wait, I say hold off to see what the Tesla Model X is all about.

my rank of the german vehicles i've owned.
take it for what it's worth this from an overall owners experience 1. mercedes 2. porsche 3. bmw 4. audi FYI if you're evening considering an S5 get the newer version with the V-6 the v-8 was an under performer-heavy-and thirsty the V-6 performs better For what you're looking 4 a used AUDI A7 or Porsche Panamera 4S might fit the bill for all needs good luck |

I like Audi's...their owners pay for my Boss. MB or domestic for SUV if you are going to do any towing. I would lean toward domestic. Avoid Land Rover if you hate driving loaners. Don't see many Toyotas in the shop, so take that as you will.

I beg to differ, my Range Rover Sport had 160k miles before the EGR valves went belly up, leaving me stranded with a trailer behind me, and 263k miles before it even developed the slightest hint of "mechanical" problems. Which turned out to be the water/oil temperature sensor sending wrong values to the ECU. Other than that, it never missed a beat, and I towed 6 tonnes with it at one point (3.5t officially allowed).

I've been looking into the S6 and what features are available also. I haven't had a chance to see the HUD or the night vision in use...just sounds like such a cool technology to detect pedestrians at night.
