Think I'd burn down the firehouse! I'd collect anything salvagable, buy the Camaro shell, replace the quarters and rebuild it at the firehouse's expense. Wouldn't be the same, but all the parts are out there and he'd have another one.

that truck and the guard rail are no contest, a car and a guard rail are more in check.

Wanna know the worst part about it??? He wont see a nickle from the state, county or municipality. Theres all sorts of laws in place that if your property is damaged by an emergency vehicle, your insurance company pays for both your car and whatever the cop/firemen/paramedics, etc are driving. It can't, however, affect your insurance rates. Pretty great huh! You can't even try to sue, since, well, you cant sue the gov't. I'm really surprised "fire officials have agree to cover everything", infact, i'd believe that when i saw it.

That sucks royally... hope he had insurance.

I didn't get the impression he swerved off the road. I got the impression the accident was caused by his wheel going off the road. If he was still in control of the truck, a guardrail would have helped just fine. If he lost control, then well...yeah.
