The only redeeming quality about the '94-'96 Impala SS was that it was RWD.

Impala....the end of an era. The last relic. The only one left to carry the torch since the Crown Vic and old Taurus retired. The only car still available with a front bench seat.(?)

Gotta admit, a part of me will miss that. Years ago, my dad had an old 1993 Taurus winter beater with a bench. It made it possible to park within three inches of a known-to-be-a-jerk's car in a parking lot, since you could slide across and exit out the passenger side door with ease.

I've always liked the current generation Impala, especially the SS and later LFX powered cars (like this one). They're nothing to look at but I like the comfort, room, size, and plain vanilla design. The empty canvas design means these cars are open to a wide array of personalization touches. Personally, I'd get some black police steelie wheels with chrome center caps and debadge the entire car. RWD would've been cool though.
Of course, these cars are no comparison to the '94-'96 SS cars...
