TAG?

yeah...I met him once.

Indianapolis...September 2008. Chevy was showing off the new Camaros for the first time in person at the Speedway. I had scheduled to meet Doug when I got there...never having met him before....and as I'm talking on the phone trying to see him in the crowd - up this guy comes and gives me a big hug!

We've been best of friends ever since. The End.

He's also, as evidenced by this thread, a celebrity!

yes I did knock on his glass and I even asked if I could drive his car......his plate frame says "no you cant drive it".

I did knock gently though. Is Tag in law enforcement?
Oh and he didnt seem to be short as he pretty much filled up the front drivers seat, so I am pretty sure he is over 5'10" (taller than me).
Cheers

What's up!!!

I gotta admit. That was pretty cool. "Hey...are you one of the mods on C5?"

Dana thought it was pretty cool too. It was a pleasure meeting you. Too bad we didn't meet up about 3 hours earlier.

We actually didn't get what we came for. Got there at 9:30am and picked number #69 in line. They were on customer #16. At noon, they had only gotten to customer #38 and we had to leave to drive back to SA to get the kids at school. Dude....I was ticked. The gun was there and all I had to do was pay. Couldn't get up there in line, though...

Waited for two 1/2 hours....three people behind the counter...and what could we do??? I was ticked. We drove all the way up from SA and back for literally nothing. We have family in town and even skipped on seeing them for the morning to try to make it happen.

I've been juggling family schedules this entire week. I took 5 days off of work so I can see everyone and try to get everyone's schedules aligned. Let me tell you, it's extremely difficult when you several family members hate each other and have had lifelong grudges. Add divorces into the mix with new marriages and oh boy...some people don't even want to hear the other persons name!

Let me put it this way...trying to get the Uncle to come up and see his dying mother (my wonderful grandmother who's 88 years old and won't make it but a few more months, probably). He won't even come up to see her (from 2 1/2 hours away) since his brother (my dad) is here whom he hates. I could get into it even more, but sheesh....won't even see his mother.

Anywhere else, you got it!

We were in a parking lot with a good 100 other officers all trying to buy guns at the same time! I think my personal safety (and anyone else in the area) was pretttttttty good. lol If there was anywhere for a criminal NOT to be at that time, it was IN that parking lot!!

Joe, you have been a good friend. I've said it plenty of times before....if we only lived closer. You have been like a little brother to me and it's been great knowing you.

When you asked, "can I drive it?" I sat there for a second and was like..."did he really ask to drive my car?" LMAO

Yeah...I'm LEO (that's Law Enforcement Officer for our previous long lost friend on these boards who thought I was calling myself "Leo..."...boy was that a hilarious story...)

And I'm 6'2" / 240 ish.

But I can still fit in that trunk!!!

Tag, if he had seen your post on Facebook with all those goodies you stocked up on he might not have knocked on your window.

He might have tried waving at you from 30 feet.................or made a sign out of an old pizza box asking, "hey are you the famous mod on Camaro5".

But you are famous and people do "silly" things when they see celebrities. Done it myself on a few occasions.

The offer still stands, but you may need to watch me wash my truck first..... You know those window wash squeegies at gas pumps? They're GREAT for scrubbing dirt off paint too!
