Let's be honest here. is there REALLY any such thing as looking too much like an Aston Martin? they are simply some of the most beautiful cars in the world bar none. And in that case a person could saw the Malibu looks too Silverado for them from the front, or "too Camaro" from the rear. And befopre say "at least they are Chevies" Guess who owned aston when that design language went into play..................

That's a funny statement to me. I'd think the more "Aston Martinish" an affordable family sedan looks the better.

it's just kind of weird when looks are ripped off so blatantly.

Absolutely. Kia and Hyundai have been doing it for years now. But, it's obvious Ford is switching over to this Aston Martin'ish front end.

Who cares if they rip it off. It looks damn good. Once they get past all these first model year recalls its gonna be one hell offers a car.

Dont forget ford Owned aston martin for more than a decade and lost at ton money on it. So i think this is their version of payback by making a midsize sedan that loost like one. Another point is Malibu as with everyone else has said is the too short wheelbase.

Does anyone know what GMs thinking was? Why would you take a car that was already on the smallish size inside and make it even worse. Then take what was a really nice interior design and turn it into a mismatched mess with worse materials.

Here is the deficiency with the Malibu.

Wheelbase is the shortest in the class. And typical of most GM cars, rear seat room is worse. GM has had a problem for years in this regard.

Also what is hurting the Malibu is mass. It is several hundred pounds more than the Altima. So it handles a little less crips and accelertes a little less quick.

Note the Malibu 2 inches shorter in rear seat leg room than the competition.

Soooooo other than tweaking front seat backs and rear seat cushions these are not things that coud be easily changed in an "emergency refresh".

Malibu needs to lose 200 pounds (boy does THAT sound familiar) and gain wheelbase.

I would buy the 1970, but then again, I am not general public.
