LOL!!!! I found out why my pictures above look so different, it's because the ones that I think look "hot" are actually different cars!! If you look at the front carefully, you can see the chrome accent piece is different.

The so-called hot version is a concept 6, and the ugly ones are the actual production cars. Talk about stupid - I don't know why they had to uglify the production car.

BS. Look at my comparison pics above. The concept Mazda 6 looks hot, whereas the production 6 looks boring. Why on earth would anyone make such a design decision? I cannot fathom why they couldn't have released the concept Mazda6 - can you?

To the uninitiated, here are the differences: the concept's nose is longer, and the rear is shorter (therefore it looks sportier). The production car has it reversed: the rear is longer and the front is shorter - looks horrible IMO.

Has there been a production car in the last 20 years that looks as good as the concept? Nope. Even the Camaro and Challenger, as good as they still look, do not look as good as the concept versions. Because of country specific safety standards and need for competitive room, etc in a car, proportions always change compared to a true concept.

If you look at the 2 cars the differences all amount to things changed for safety and price. Bumpers, lights, ride height, etc.

No, the changes amount to having greater trunk space. Shoot me in the head right now.

It is a family sedan above all else, so that is important.

The more I stare at it, I'm not certain that the production model has all that much more trunk space if at all. It's just designed to look uglier. Jackasses. Why do family sedans have to look boring - that's a BS paradigm based on no business value.

Camryitis, the number 1 illness for midsize sedan buyers. People buy Camrys in droves and i you look at the rest of the best sellers, they are equally as boring. the new FUsion is a step-up in design, but the proof will be in the pudding so to speak if it sells well.
