Of course, I could just go with a Z-Oh! and put some money into with mods.

Lots to think about!
I'd like to see where C6 prices end up after the C7 releases. Something about a small block 427 is just right to me.

Truth and Truth!
I think a Z06 with the Z07 package would be right in your price range. One's without the Z07 package can be had for $50's.

A Z06 with the Z06 package is what I'd go for!

Love me some LS7 too. This option is definitely on the short list as well.

Anyone have opinion on the Maserati GT?

I can't afford a Z06 any time soon but my dad is interested in getting a Vette. Maybe I can nudge him to a Z and get to drive it.

I would go with one of these:

Z06
Porsche
Lotus...not sure why but I really like this car. Small, light weight, pretty good power, tons of mods you can do and it's made for the track!

Are you looking to be competitive at the track or do you want a comfortable weekend sports car that will do fine at the track? If you want a competitive track car for the money go with a lotus or a naturally aspirated 911 and modify. If you are looking for a nice/cool weekend car that you can also take to the track, get a 911 turbo or a gtr. I went with the z06 and it is an awesome car, but it's really just not a fun car to drive on weekends. It doesn't get the attention, isn't very comfy and just doesn't have that "wow" feeling when you drive it. I've only had it for about a year and I'm already looking for something else.

You can always let me borrow yours to see if I like it.

If you can handle it on a track, the Viper ACR fits your criteria perfectly.

That's just the thing. It's an incredibly fun car when you are pushing it. It's fast, it's brutal and it's pliable, but when you're just cruising it's like any other corvette. Nothing wrong with the corvette, but it needs more "pizazz". That's what I'm hoping for from the c7.

Very good points, thank you. You're not the first person to say that about the Z0, which makes me slightly apprehensive about the Z06. Yes, I am looking for something with a good competitive track setup, however I would certainly use it for a lot of weekend cruising. I would probably only be at the track once per month and during the season.

I would prefer a N/A Porsche vs the turbo. The turbo is great get-up-and-go speed but they aren't very track oriented like some of the N/A models (GTs).

Again, the GT-R just doesn't do it for me. I appreciate its performance abilities and build quality, but it just doesn't light me up for some reason.

I haven't looked much at Lotus. I was a big fan of the Espirits back in the day, but I'm not a huge fan of the little one.

This would be awesome, but to find an ACR in my price range, the stars would have to align perfectly. There are quite a few Vipers available in my area... The downside to that is they are mostly at this shadey dealer here that is known for hammering wrecked exotics back together and selling trojan horses to customers.

Good discussion so far though, keep 'em coming!
