However, if you just bought a car, you should probably just sit on that for a little while. A good deal's only a good deal if you were already looking to buy (and have the money).

Lifelong Ford guy here. Roush Mustangs are WAY overpriced. There's also another issue to think about:

They are NOT recognized as their own brand, i.e. Shelby, Cobra, etc. To banks, it is only a Mustang GT with options. SO, the loan value on that car is only going to be what they would loan on a Mustang GT. That's why Roush cars are notorious for staying on dealer lots FOREVER. Nobody can handle the freaking down payment required to get the price down to what the bank is willing to go on it.

I should know. Our dealership had a 2007 Roush 427R that only had 7k miles on it. It sat on our lot for months because we were asking $30k...but to the banks, it was a $17k used Mustang GT.

Long story short, get a used GT500 for mid-$30k and go home much happier.

I'd have to agree with all the comments here. Don't force yourself to make a decision that doesn't make financial sense. If you have a new Camaro, stick with it. Don't get into a Roush. Go with a GT500 or a BOSS if you just must have a new or newer Mustang, but go with a slightly used one and save yourself the massive loss you take buying brand new.

after purchase, a new Roush Mustang becomes just a stardard used Mustang if you tried to sell it...unless the buyer of a used Roush is a Roush Mustang knowledgeable person, it will take you awhile to sell it for a fair price.
I would never get a Stage 1 or Stage 2 Roush Mustang. Stage 3 is the only way to go.

I think the answer is pretty obvious, like others have said, keep your cars and don't throw money away.

showsstoper and pdari......thank you for the direct answer to my question. All the rest of the comments and advice were beyond what I was asking and although meant well....really didn't answer what I was asking and that is whether the roush mustang holds the value.

I did directly answer your question. If you get the car at sticker, you are getting ripped off badly.
