Yes, with it spelled out. That el camina is pretty late. I had 2 '64 Impala SS's. There were 6 "SS" emblems but no "Super Sport" emblems.-the fender emblems in'65 went to "Super Sport". Even the 1st "SS's in '61 only had "SS" emblems

nothing. it's an rpo code. L means engine, s or t, etc just designates which style.

diesels are lmm, lmz, lly, etc etc.

LSx, LTx, etc etc

Zxx is a performance package, like Z06, ZL1, Z71, etc etc

the numbers and letters all mean something on the factory floor. windows, doors, engines, etc all have their own codes. marketing dept not too creative.

I got this from Chevy's SS website...


Chevrolet has a long history of using the SS (Super Sport) designation on high-performance models of some of its most enduring nameplates, most recently on Camaro* models. The limited production version of the Chevrolet SS will debut as part of the 2014 model year and will arrive in dealer showrooms late 2013.
