The new 2013 Fusions look really nice.

I'd love to pick up one of their AWD ecoboost versions for the wife.

Ford Taurus SHO, or wait for the new Chevy SS.

I suppose a used G8 would work too.

I'm still confused. After reading this again, I'm stuck with the understanding that you require one SUV per child.

I just don't understand what you can't do with the one SUV you already have

Stick with the camaro, you got it cause it was what you wanted and that is whats important.

I have 2 kids, age 6 and 2 with a third on the way, I have my camaro cause it is MINE, it is not a family car, its mine, I do take the whole family out in my car as it is, carseats and all.

We have a van for our family vehicle cause we foresaw that we would be having more kids. If anything I would look into getting rid of the SUV! you laugh but just you wait.... wait till your kids start opening the doors on their own... no car within 100 feet is safe! lol, they just swing the doors with out regard for whats around. with the van they dont get that option, because of the sliding doors, no dings on my camaro if I happen to park next to the van.

Just my opinion. Its your cars and family so do what suits you. I would stick with the camaro over anything else.

The size of the kid in the back seat isn't nearly as important as how cramped Mama is in the passenger seat. My wife is 6'1", mostly legs and is up against the dash when we leave enough room for my 2YO daughter's legs and car seat in the back. That's why I'm getting rid of mine. I certainly don't want to, but I can't justify driving my pickup 60 miles every day while leaving my Camaro sitting. That's not why I bought that car.

Everyone's experience is a little different. Get what you NEED. The wants will come later in life with some hard work. Just my $.02

Work schedule. My wife drops off and I pick up or vice versa. We both work long days right now and being in NJ the weather has also been brought up as a concern. Granted, I do have my winter rims and tires though and my car was fine 70 miles round trip last year per day (very mild winter).

But a bit of clarity on that is right now my wife is doing the dropping off and picking up around her job. When our son starts school and the other one needs to go off to daycare our schedules will be completely jumbled up which will have us splitting the travel for pickup and drop off.

Hope that makes a bit of sense.

it sounds like you will need AWD. Have you looked at the WRX? the interior of the Evo is crap IMO, but the WRX's interior is a little nicer.

yep...considered one of them. I actually found a dealership in North jersey that was willing to do a great deal on one. Payments would be like 10 cheaper a month too lol.

Also considered a leftover 2011 mopar edition charger. I don't think they are that bad looking.

Lot to think about here and I appreciate all the input from everyone

What exactly do you want from the car? You have plenty of options. Do you only want to buy new? Do you want AWD? Do you want to be able to mod the car reliably? The STi interior is considerably more upscale in feel than the evo, as is even the wrx, but neither really pride themselves on comfort. What about a lightly used S4? Perhaps a golf R?

They only make about 250hp, but with a few basic mods they will make 350+(crank), are very comfortable, and they are great in the snow with AWD. The interior is very, very nice for the price range.

I would suggest driving everything that might be a possibility, even cars you aren't sure about. Magazines and internet folk can't really tell you what you will like.

I just move my seat up, and get my 7 and 8 year old back there. Even my wife and our 13 year old makes room if the 3 of us go in the Camaro. We have a Sienna for those times we need to haul people. Why give up your Camaro if you have something else that works? :/

Let's see:

1. Sell Camaro for huge depreciation hit and replace with a boring car that you'll hate

or

2. buy an inexpensive second hand sedan beater for those times you need the space, AND keep the Camaro.

Let me think long and hard about that.

Not really a beating....a break even right now. I have gotten quite a few trade in appraisals. Dealerships ask what is done, I am up front with them. Tell them "IF" I trade it in I will include the stock manifolds if they would like them. I figured if I even traded out of state they would probably like them.

I enoy my car and have modded it to my liking...but now just question whether getting something with a bit more of a backseat would be worth it or stick it out with my camaro.

Owe 27200 on the car and seems trade in would put me at about 27K (I have heard some places tell me 26K but I am going to hold out for 27 considering they will list for probably 30/31K.

Options I am considering is a 2011 Evo GSR with low miles or a 2012 charger.

What do you guys think about the situation?
I understand your scituation as I was in a similar place a few months back. I needed to get an automobile with more rear seat room and seating for 5. While I loved my Camaro, and it's rumble I always regretted having purchased a manual car. With pressure from my wife to replace it with something that would hold all 5 of us, I decided on a SRT Challenger. IMO best of both worlds bad assed perfomance, with interior space for all, and killer looks. While picking up the Challenger I checked out the Charger R/T beautiful car, would have loved to seen an SRT model.
