I say jump on it. A new GT500 for less than $40k is a very, very good deal, even if it is the outgoing model.

They could sell a Mustang half price and I wouldn't cancel my Camaro.

I know the waiting is hard. I ordered mine in March and it has not even been submitted to GM yet. I was #8 in line this week just to be submitted to GM. Last week I was #9. Whoopi I moved one spot. I can't believe with all the Sands Chevrolet dealerships in Phoenix I move one spot per week. I'm sure I won't see this car until August or September, if even by then. I was told I would have it by the middle of May when I ordered it.
I just plan on saving up more money for the down payment. The waiting sucks though. I will be honest and say that I have taken a peek at some new Mustangs and thought they looked good. I just can't do it though. Hang in there and get what you really want.
