Yeah sadly it's not even just kids anymore, adults also do this & it's really annoying & frustrating.

It's like people just don't care. Sometimes I honestly wish I could just hit someone one good time to teach em a lesson.

I have my 8 year old convinced that if she goes out into the street without looking, she WILL get hit by a car. She always comes to ask me before crossing the street to go to her friends house. I let her think she's a big shot by crossing alone, but I'm secretly watching her as she checks for traffic about 80 times before crossing. Hubby says i'm paranoid, but he should thank me that she's cautious and never been hit.

There are some kids in my parents' neighborhood who jump out in front of cars as a joke. Or jump out into the street at you when you drive by.

If their parents have no sense, and they have no sense... natural selection will be ugly...

In Oakland, CA, kids usta' run out inta' the street thus forcing chosen cars to slow to a crawl. Then their older brothers would walk up to the driver's side window, poke a strap inta' the driver's face, make him get out, and then the car would be hijacked by the rest of the dudes in the posse. Worked good...

One time when I was driving my dads brand new car (The car was only 3 months old at the time.) I was traveling down a road where the speed limit was 55 and I was going about 50. I have bad eyesight, so most of the time I have to wear glasses or contacts while I drive, and thank god I was wearing them this time..

I was traveling down the road 5 mph under the speed limit, and I was the only car on the road at the time, and out of no where, two kids that looked 17 or 18 darted out about 60 - 70 feet in front me. I had to slam on the breaks as hard as I could and I layed on the horn (Out of habit) and one of the kids started running like he was on fire to the other side of the road while the other kid froze in the middle of the road and motioned me to go. So I started moving again and RIGHT before I was about to pass the other kid standing in the middle of the road, he darts right in front of me towards the other sidewalk! I had to slam on my breaks again and stay there for a moment to make sure the kids were leaving and calm down a little bit. It was scary for sure.
