Almost all that stuff applies to children of the 80's as well.

When Atari came out we thought that the coolest thing(space invaders and pong). Then the neighbors put in cable and we watched a movie without commercials and didn't have to go the theatre.

Still have my PONG! and 2600.

Grew up on military bases all over the world, movies were only 25 cents for kids and 50 cents for adults. Went to 50 cents and 75 cents respectively in the early 1980's.

We still got cable anyway. STILL loved going to the movies. NOTHING beats a movie on the big screen.

I remember doing everything and much more. I still will look and certain trees and think to myself, that would be a great tree fort house. My friends and I had video games but those were for rainy days and sleepovers. They took a backseat to playing outside.

My stepson called for a ride the other day so I picked him up from his gf's house only to find out he needed me to drop him off at his friends house 1/2 mile away. I was like WTF? He couldn't walk that far, really?

I used to ride my BMX bike 10 miles to the nearest bike track, ride all day and them ride home. If one of us crashed, we rode home bleeding. If out bike broke, we all pushed our bikes home together and laughed the entire time. I loved the era I grew up in and I wanted to share this because it brought back such great memories.

Yes, the early 80's should be included.
