You could check out Death Valley, also. Bad Water is the lowest point in the country. If you look at the cliff above you (at the rest stop there) you can see a mark about 300ft up that says sea level.

When your headed out to the dam, there is an overlook off to the left. It's a great view of Lake Meade.

Eat a the rotating resturant at the Stratuspere.

Goto the Sign Graveyard. It has all the old signs from some of the original Casinos.

Take a tour of the Shelby plant near the Las Vegas Speedway. They have one of the first cars Shelby ever built there and a cool little museum. The tour includes a back room tour where you get to see some cars getting built.

Have Elvis renew your marriage vows.

If you want a really fancy (and pricey - but worth every penny) dinner, go to Aureole in Mandalay Bay. Fabulous food, and a great wine list - they have a 4-story wine tower.

I'm going here in September and was wondering what temps are then. I also have been looking into going to this race track that you can drive laps in a different sports cars. Anyone know about it. I can't remember the name of the place and the info is at my office.

Oh.....I forgot.....yet another thing that is pretty cool is to take a NIGHT TIME helicopter tour of Vegas. They also have them that will take you over the Hover Damn and the Grand Canyon but those are daytime tours, and very cool as well.

Do not miss going to the Stratosphere for a long leisurely supper, and then go on the rides on top!

Here is my suggestion list:

Free ones
1.- see the fountains in front of the bellagio (better at night)
2.- Check out the shops at the Ceasars palace, right at the end there is a nice little show and a decent size aquarium.
3.- There is a nice pirate show in front of the Treasure island hotel.
4.- There is also a light/fire show in front of the Mirage
5.- You can also check out Old Vegas and watch the boardwalk show at night, there are also some free concerts on weekends, and see the biggest gold nugget at the golden nugget hotel.
Over all just walk around inside of the hotels, there is A LOT to see, and its easy to miss a lot if nice stuff just by making a wrong turn (the hotels can be confusing while inside)

Drinks.
If you guys like boze remember that most casinos offer free drinks if you are gambling, make sure you take advantage of this.
July is gonna be hot, there is a lot of places that sell daiquiri's i always get them at this place called Fat Tuesday, you get a souvenir and a nice cool drink
If you like beer, Osheas has $1 beer at their bar and $1 margaritas.

Buffet

You gota go to a buffet while in Vegas. I always go to the buffet at the Aria hotel its really really good, the Treasure island buffet is good to.

Over all, just make sure you walk around, most hotels connect between each other so you can stay indoor as much as you can cause it can get pretty hot in July

Have fun!!

If you're interested in meeting the locals, we meet Saturday Mornings, 8AM-ish, (sometimes earlier now that it's getting warm) at Cars'N'Coffee at Eastern and Richmar.

aSSian and I are on here regularly if you want more information.
