It sure TOOK long enough to do this.

Sounds like they waited to sell as many Camaros and ZL1's as they can first.

Those sales figures are proof that the public wants this kind of car too.

Perhaps the SS will be made along side Camaros?

Oh well. Commodore's back. That's all I care about.

Problem is by the time it gets here, it will be going up against a 470hp charger srt8 with an 8spd auto transmission... I think the SS is going to be a little out gunned, and with the weaker american dollar it won't have a price advantage either...GM's Gen V V8s and 8spd autos trans can't come soon enough...

The folks at GM are experts at brand confusion. Is that a Synergy Edition? Why yes it is. Wait I thougth Synergies were green. No, that was the 2010 synergy series mine is a 2011. What colors could you get in 2010. Synergy and only Synergy. Wait I know its a synergy but what color... oh hell never mind; have you seen my SS. That 4 door is an SS. yes. What model. um, an SS. no what model - Is it an Imala SS? no its an SS, SS - wait what?

I wouldn't expect them to move production. Its a low volume vehicle (they expect fewer sales than with the G8) which will share a ton of parts with its Australian brethren (far more than it would share with the Camaro). The Canadian dollar is still roughly at par with the US dollar, so they won't gain anything by moving production up here. However, they would have to spend an enourmous amount of money retooling the plant to crank out SS specific parts. On the other hand ... nearly all the tooling (plus a supplier chain) to build these cars is already in Australia.

As bad as just naming it a Chevy SS, ill still take that over the recent names GM has brought us like Volt, Sonic, Cruze & Spark lol So im not really surprised that the name is kind of just "crappy", maybe they'll change it when it nears release.

Because that is just a NASCAR body shell. It isn't any indication of what the production car will look like at all.

from the pics we'd seen, it's just a new version of the holden commodore..slap the twin nose grill and you have the g8.. i think gm is pretty out of any fresh ideas when it come to naming a car.. you'll say i got an ss...and others will respond an "ss" what?

it's a caprice or the new impala??? come on gm make your brain work.
