And really, Camaro 5 is one of the more tolerant fan sites I've seen when it comes to other cars, even the Mustang. Lots of Mustang and Challenger forums are not nearly as civil as the members here.

actually, that's why i'm here.. to get info on the new Camaros.

however, the fanboi-ism and blind loyalty to any brand gets old no matter what brand it is.

i happen to like multiple brands and am a fan of vehicles from all of the "big 3" so YOU can get over it

how a forum deals with the competition usually says a lot about their character in whole.

i am new here, and so far am unimpressed. hopefully that will change as i get a better view of the whole site, and not just certain subforums

Every Mustang forum I've been to is just as nasty, as is the Challenger forum, so this should be nothing new

I'm not hating, at all. Welcome. Just remember this is a Camaro forum-- and there are quite a few well-respected members on here who own Mustangs and get plenty of cred from the Bowtie camp. It's all about how you treat people!

The site is based around a GM vehicle. If participating in discussion about that particular vehicle isn't your primary focus, then you don't have much of a place here IMO.

Again, I don't go to ToyotaNation to get info on GM vehicles. Same thing applies here.

absolutely, some of it is to be expected. i'm just pointing out that the bashing for the sake of bashing is just dumb. nothing wrong with a good rivalry though. if it wasn't for that, we wouldn't have our modern day musclecar era!

i've already recognized some familiar s197 names, but Mustang forums aren't the only ones i'm on.. i'm not new to forums or Camaros and i will laugh at the blind brand loyalty of the Ford guys or Mopar guys too. i'm mainly here to get acquainted with the 5th gen Camaro, but anything about other brands will draw my attention.

To the OP, we condense multiple Mustang threads into a sort of '1 stop shopping' idea, so that anyone who wants to talk about the next gen Mustang (or the new GT500, or the current 5.0 or whatever) have a place to do so.

And before anyone accuses us of trying to quell discussion about the Mustang, I'll share a little factoid that I learned a while ago. One time, during a similar discussion about Mustang Mega Threads I did a search on some of the biggest Mustang forums out there, seeing how many threads they have about the Camaro. Keep in mind that these sites were around for quite a bit longer than Camaro5, had more members and far more topics. None of them had as many Camaro threads as we had Mustang threads. Since then, I can only assume the gap has widened.

From what I hear, we tend to be more accepting of owners from competing cars than the average automotive forum. Sure, there will always be others are still better than us but there are some sites that more or less make it against the rules to talk about the competition. Like I said, this is what I've heard. I can't speak from experience because I don't wander around Mustang or Challenger sites to see how they react to someone who wants to talk Camaros.

We will try to kick out the trolls who are here only to talk about some other car, but at the same time ... we aren't overly aggressive about it and we give most of them an initial warning then a couple temporary bans before we send them packing for good. We've even kicked off members that are too pro-Camaro because they're constantly trying to bait Mustang owners.
