You mean the Baja. I see it too. It looks good. Did they keep the same motor or change it?

not an el camino, that name belongs to the chevelle, and nothing else. it's an Ute straight from monaro with a fancy grill on it. oh well, i kinda like it. maybe it's like a market tester and if it succeeds(just dreaming here) maybe they'll bring back the real el camino. man what i would do to see a new chevelle! oh baby, i get excited just thinking about a 1970 ss 454!!!! sorry, i get off topic dreaming!

I think it is a waste of resources and isn't and won't be anymore succesful than a G8 Coupe would have been...

Applause for the right attitude to have! Give me a break, GM didn't even mention El Camino, it's a Pontiac through and through, a true GM product. Personally I like it, a lot. It's both original and different enough from anything else on the market and anything else similar in concept we've seen in recent times including the car I can't imagine why anyone would be bringing up in thsi discussion, Subaru.

G8 ST is what they should stick to. I think this contest is just to create hype around a new product and generate interest, and obviously to give away a car.

what do you mean by that?

if anything the chevelle name belongs to the el camino. seeing as how the first elkys came out in 59 and the chevelle didnt make an appearance till 64. tho i will give you the fact that the 2nd gen elkys were based off the chevelle, but the elky was around first. lol

and the first gen ones were based off the brookwood station wagons. so if anything, the el camino name belongs to the brookwood. lol

Have to honest...this dose nothing for me, Dont care for the styling!

And I truly don't know if the El' Camino has a place in the market anymore. (correct me if Im wrong)

My father owned one in the late 60's and he loved it, as did I

Guess it has a special place in my heart, as a Chevy only!

Just my opinion...Don't send the

It will sell in limited quantities. It is pretty darn niche. But, GM has to do little more than slap new front body panels on the Holden Ute and ship it over, so the cost and risk are rather low. If it fails, it is a small drop in the bucket. If it succeeds, then it will just serve as a low volume car that the dealers can sell at maybe a lighter larger margin. They're happy, and the customers who really want a car like this are happy. It is not going to change the auto industry or GM's fortunes, but it is a good, safe business move.

They should name it the Mullet. Business in the front, party in the back.
