Apparently Ford is not happy about the Silverado ad and actually requested that GM and NBC not air it tonight.

GM's response:

Quote:
“We stand by our claims in the commercial, that the Silverado is the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickup on the road. The ad is a fun way of putting this claim in the context of the apocalypse,” said General Motors Global Chief Marketing Officer Joel Ewanick. “We can wait until the world ends, and if we need to, we will apologize. In the meantime, people who are really worried about the Mayan calendar coming true should buy a Silverado right away.”
Suck it Ford. Maybe when that moron Farley learns to shut his trap, GM will reconsider.

This was mine so far.

I don't see the problem with the Chevy ad by the way. All manufacturers make claims that aren't entirely true including Ford. Lighten up Ford. You could have shelled out 7million to make your own.

None of the commercials really stood out this year, IMO. My favorite was probably the Clint Eastwood Chrysler commerical or the Chevy Sonic commerical (the one with the 360 degree jump). The Eminem Chrysler commerical from last year is easily one of the best Super Bowl commericals of all time. It killed some of the potential from this year's commercial.

Actually I think GM can eat their own words because remember the Ford commercial that had the guy saying "i didnt want to buy a vehicle from a bailout company"

What is the difference. I love GM but they are a bunch of whiny witches when anyone brings up the bailout.

The Chrysler halftime america commercial was the most meaningful if you ask me. Clint eastwood always wins.
