My car doesn't get washed. It stays in the garage. A couple of months ago, I wouldn't even take it to the dealer one day for an oil change because it was too foggy outside. It gets a good dusting and a coat of wax before every car show.

You really should wash her. Applying wax to dirty paint will cause swirls.

Really? That is sad. These cars are sooooooooo much fun to drive. I hope you will join us on some cruises this year in addition to car shows. Maybe even take up a challenge to race at the Music City Camaro fest! I saw all your trophys in your album. You will have to let me know what shows you frequent.

OP this is a good thread, didn't mean to jack it but just had to comment on a post from our club's newest member. I will be watching this one to see what opinions come out on this. It is a dilema we all face every winter..........well those of us who actually drive our cars and live where there is winter anyway.

The car isn't dirty since I rarely drive it. It just gets dust on it. My husband has a special cleaning routine we go through to make sure there is no dirt on it. We dust it from front to back really well and then wax. My Intrepid has tons of swirls in the paint from a local dealership that repaired it after a wreck. I hate swirls....

What's the point of having a car if you aren't going to drive it? God forbid you have to lug out some buckets and soap and wash it one day, what's wrong with that? These cars aren't going to become collectibles or gain value, so really what is the point of the extreme babying? :(

We have four other cars, so I don't have to drive it. It's a sentimental gift that is very important to me and is only driven when it's an especially nice day. It's not about the collectibility or value of the car. This car is something that I had wanted since I was at least 8 years old. It's as valuable to me as my jewelry that only gets worn on special occasions. In 20 years, I will be driving around on those beautiful sunny days in a mint 2010 Stock Camaro and loving every second of it with a grin the size of Texas on my face. For me, it's not about the Daily Drive.

.
We didn't do many shows last year because of scheduling. This year, we have a full year planned:

May 7: Mount Juliet
May 26: Granville
June 24: Murfreesboro
August: Wilson County Fair Car Show
Sept: Westmoreland Car Show (This is my hometown.)
Sept 8: Red Boiling Springs
Sept 15: Gladefest
October: Oktoberfest in Lebanon
October: Church Fundraiser - Roberts Tabernacle in Westmoreland

We may add a few more depending on our work schedules.

Mine will get washed mid to late March since it will come out of storage mid-March, provided the salt and crap has been rinsed off the hiway by the spring cleaning crew.
