isn't a bugatti over $2 million? That makes the GTR look like quite a bargain @ $90k and running high 10s stock.

not sure on veyron price , and you sure could outrun the veyron ...dollar for dollar if you spent the$$$ on the gtr ...but in the end, you would still have a gtr...you could spend the 100k on a pure muscle car and smoke the veyron and gtr...but you still would not have a veyron..just saying

Not really sure how all of that would be possible, we've all seen the test-video of the veyron running 250mph. What muscle car will hold up at that speed? I wouldn't bet on the GTR either at that point. I think it takes some serious engineering to make that happen, not just a bunch of bolted-together parts. Maybe you are saying "smoke it" to mean slightly faster acceleration at certain speed-ranges? Maybe I guess.

The power and speed has to stop somewhere on a production car. A mildly modified GTR can keep up with a Veyron in acceleration. However, the price of the Veyron is apparent in the build quality, interior feel, handling, ride quality, technology, electronics, years of research, aerodynamics, drivetrain, suspension........

The bugatti is designed to last ten years with over 1000hp and can run 250+ mph. You can get the gtr to go fast but it won't be as reliable and I doubt how durable the gtr would be at over 250. There already had transmission issues.

For the Super Sport yes, but you can get the standard 16.4 for a measly 1.6MM!!

But keep in mind the up-keep / maint. cost the owner will incur over that 10 year period as required by Bugatti. Let say 30,000 miles in 10 years. That will cost you $195,000 in tires and wheels alone;

"A set of the Super Sport’s special Michelin tires costs $42,000 and may last 10,000 miles if you’re careful, though they last only 15 minutes at the car’s top speed (at that pace, however, the 26.4-gallon tank is sucked dry in just 10 minutes, and there’s no place on Earth to safely go that fast that long anyway, so no worries). At the third tire replacement, Michelin requires that you also swap out the $69,000 wheels—coincidentally, the only wheels that fit those tires—to ensure a proper bead seal".

OUCH!!!!

Send a message via AIM to Mr. Wyndham
I wonder how many people there realized they were staring at a 1.5 million dollar car race down a drag strip...

Trap speed tells all you need to know. The GTR was like bringing a knife to a Bugatti gun fight.

It didn't look like the GTR got a equal start at launch. Erik
