This thing is like riding in your Lazy-boy in the middle of a swank lounge. We went home with the Enclave, mostly though because GM was offering better finance at the time.

Very true. The SRX is derived from the Equinox/Terrain and LaCrosse platforms!
Its a Theta-Epsilon platform.

Can't comment on the the Dodge, since we would never own one... LOL! And the problem with the Ford was the seating... we wanted buckets in the 2nd row and 3 seats in the 3rd row... Ford did not offer that configuration... GM does..
I always wondered why Ford put 2 huge seats in the third row and 3 smaller ones in the middle... wouldn't it make more sense the other way? Lol

You've gotta look CLOSELY at "content" between "competing" vehicles.

E.G.:
NO Acadia is built with stamped steel wheels/wheelcovers; they only come with alloys.
Traverse comes, Standard, with steelies and 'covers.

Chevrolet's reason for being is as GM's "volume" division...including Fleet. If you're buying 1,000 7-seater crossovers (or just ONE), things like alloy wheels may NOT be on your shopping list of "needs". And a Grand or two can swing a deal to/from a product. And a Grand X a 1,000 units will buy you a very nice bonu$...

Chevrolet also caters to a broader cross-section of buyers...from "basic transportation/features" to "full load" folks. A Pontiac-GMC person generally had/has a higher expectation...as do Buick buyers...and certainly as Caddie clients do...

I realize its the same platform but the traverse is sooooo ugly. Not only that but the way chevy stamped out it's sheet metal makes it look like a mini van

I guess you guys are right about the bucket seats, better interior materials, wheel covers, and etc.. But is that really worth $5k ?? I guess I wouldnt be so upset over this if the Traverse wasnt so damn ugly, especially in the back.

And whoever said that the new Explorer isnt worth a damn, have you driven one? Cuz I have and they are damn nice. My friend has a new Durango and it is very well done and its made to where a man can drive it.

Everytime i see a Traverse its a woman driving it with kids, or some poor sap who had no choice because his wife forced the issue.

I guess im just venting. How much would a warranty cost for a used Acadia?

One more question, why dont Warranties transfer to the 2nd owner? You would think if a car company stood behind its work that it would transfer to at least the 2nd owner.

The factory warranty should transfer until the years or miles are met.

Extended warranties are almost pure profit, so what you should pay = as low as possible. When we bought the hen a Cruze in march we got the gm 5 year 100k bumper to bumper for $700 bucks.

GM warranties (Powertrain and B2B) both transfer.

I believe, however, if you look at Hyundai's 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, that is only for the original owner.

But for comparision, the BASE Explorer is 28,280 (not 27,000) but to get an equivalent model to the GMC, you probably have to get the Explorer XLT which is 32,095. Nearly the same as the Acadia. Both are FWD comparisons.

Not saying the Explorer isn't a great vehicle, it is. But it has been pretty much panned for ride and handling.

Also consider that if you compare dimensions, the GM Lambda vehicles are a bit longer than the Explorer. 6" more wheelbase which I think you will find means more 3rd row leg room enabling the Acadia to seat 8 vs. the Explorers 7.

My wife had a Durango. almost totalled it, years ago.
She felt safe, albeit 12 MPG.
When we were replacing it, we drove Acadian.
Was a crappy, snowwy, icey day.
I tried my best to get it sideways, or slide, I couldn t.
She bought one 2 weeks later. We used the GM preffered price, and she is very happy w/ it.
I cannot put a price on her feeling of safety,
Oh, I bought a Camaro....So, I ll never complain of hers..lol

Are you sure the Acadia you were looking at is not a Denali version?

MSRP starts in the low 40s for AWD Acadias up here. A mid-level with a few options and tax, that'll run you 60k though.

When did GM Powertrain and B2P warranties start transfering to the 2nd owner? This is news to me.

So your saying if I trade in or sell my 2010 Equinox it will have the warranty go with it?

If thats the case GM just got major brownie points in my book.

Both GM and Chryslers B2B and 100k powertrain warranties are transferrable, which is a very good thing. kia and Hyundai have the 10 year PT warranty, but if you get it used only the B2B (5 yr/60k though) carries over.
