This is exactly what companies need to be doing to attract people. They are too scared to directly challenge each other. This way - both companies benefit at the expense of others in the market segment who don't have a dog in this race. Kudos to Audi for going interactive with the public on Facebook.

yeah but not like GM and suzuki are doing it right now: "our car gets 1 more mpg than competitor X's car and has also one more cupholder." get creative.

How ironic. Because just yesterday I was thinking that the guy driving the black Audi S8 that never used turn signals and barely slowed down for the 3 stops signs I saw him blow through sure was an arrogant prick.

True. While Audi's target isn't exactly people worried by fuel economy, but they really know something about interiors. And that's where Audi really shines

You obviously haven't driven in Europe Seriously, lots of BMW and Audi drivers compete hard for the title of biggest driver-jerks.
(It's a shame, though, as both brands make awesome cars and I'm thinking seriously about BMW aswell)

and they both can't keep up with hat-wearing old men driving a mid 90's Merc E-Class who think the road belongs to them.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
