Here we go again.

PS3 has better potential but there is no noticeable difference (unless you're smoking something) in graphics because the game developers haven't tapped the full potential yet. It has Blu-Ray capabilities, and online is free. There are a few console-exclusive titles that people enjoy. The price is astronomically higher than xbox (just under 150%).

Xbox360 has a MUCH better online protocol, but you get what you pay for. The controller is built much more ergonomically and analogs are slightly stiffer so it provides better accuracy, which is why most people prefer a 360 controller for first person shooters. Just for gits and shiggles...for the price of a 80GB, PS3, you can buy the 60GB xbox and a decent Blu ray player. It also has a barebones system to appeal to the people who don't care for downloadable content (Just grab a memory card and play). This is HALF THE COST of a base ps3. Xbox360 also has a few console-exclusive titles.

This comes down to personal preferrence. Below is what each has that the other doesn't, so console exclusive titles aren't included

PS3:
Pros: Blu-Ray, better potential for games down the line
Cons: Price, mediocre online capability (PSN), no "cheap" edition

Xbox360
Pros: Much better online play, much cheaper, barebones system for non DLC players
Cons: Can't improve much on the graphics, no Blu-ray, pay for online interaction

get outta my head...but that pretty much sums it all up. Ive been running both systems, and the only games Ive really liked are GT4, and killzone. For 360 I still play games that came out for the launch. Simply online gameplay is great. Great summary Mindz, we gotta catch up on some SF4 sometimes aiight!

I'm playing tonight I think, if you're up. Also, tomorrow I'm playing most of the day.

I love my RROD.

And you can back up your expensive 360 games.

i have my 360 elite and lil brother has ps3, we both don't like the ps3 the 360 wins hands down no contest, better games, better dashboard, better gfx(mostly all 360 game play in 1080 while most ps3 games only play in 720), and xbox live kicks ass

I really have no preferences in regards to games, but the fact that the PS3 can play my bluerays is a bonus !!

Someone said Oblivion had better graphics on PS3? I find that interesting because Fallout 3 looks better on the Xbox360 and it's the same basic engine- that's beside the point though.

XBox has a little better library but PS3 is catching up.

The graphics are close enough to be a non-issue. If graphics are priority 1 I use my PC.

IMHO it comes down to: Do you have high speed internet and do you want to play online? The blu-ray is nice, but I love having netflix direct port to TV. Although blu-ray is of course nicer quality, being able to go pick a movie and have it fire up 30 seconds later has become my favorite xbox feature. If you have the connection speed for it, I give the xbox the movie nod just because of netflix.

it's actually a bit different graphics no matter what game you play if you use a hdmi cable, on lcd you can't really tell the difference but on a plasma it's pretty clear that the ps3 is better graphics wise. don't get me wrong, i loves me some halo killing, but for games that are on both consoles, i generally find that I prefer the ps3.

if you use HDMI, or component cable...it has nothing to do with the consoles graphics. HDMI cables simply put gets you the best picture possible. BTW LCD is better than plasma.

I have both and prefer the Xbox. Whenever a game comes out on both consoles, I get the Xbox version. The Xbox also has better exclusive titles in my opinion. The only time I turn on my PS3 is to watch a Blu-ray or play MLB: The Show.
