Each one showed off the skills of the man behind it.

Jesse (probably) built the best bike, and he did about as much of the fabrication in the 3 weeks given as he could. However, aside from the stainless frame it looks pretty much the same as most of his other stuff.

Paulie designed the best bike. His creativity and attention to detail were what made it work. Nobody else could have done that bike that well. It may not ride well, but if that were a criteria for the build off I'm sure Jr would have gone in a different direction.

Senior told his people to build an electric 2 track snowmobile ... thing. With flame throwers. They got someone else to do all the engineering on it, then stuck some fenders on it and Senior claimed it was his. Hey ... everyone's gotta be good at something

Of the three, the best looking bike was Paulie's. But I wouldn't be surprised if there is a rematch involving a ride to Sturgis or something, and having bikers at the event do the voting, not Discovery Channel viewers over the web.

I liked JJ's bike better and thought JR's bike was hideous.

I liked JRs and JJs bikes the same. If Paulie had gone with smaller wheels I would have liked the bike even more. My biggest knocks against JJ was the trash talk and the fact, I think Vinnie said it best, was that we've seen JJ build better bikes before.

When it comes to designing and fabbing: all three know their weaknesses and outsource those pieces. Jr can build frames as can OCC. They (at least junior) doesn't do it all the time. OCC has a division that build their frames so hey can have a stockpile. JJ builds everything buy hand. Good for him. But they all service different markets. JJ said it himself "my customers get frustrated because I cant really express to them what I'm doing and when I'll be done" OCC and Jr both take jobs with deadlines. Different markets different builds. No matter what, when you buy from OCC, Jr, and JJ you're getting a bike that will be specific to you. That's it. It's all what you like.

Most of Jr and OCCs customers buy their bikes for show pieces. I bet if they asked Jr to build a rider he could design a great one. Hell that's why OCC introduced their production bikes.

TL : DR - juniors needed smaller wheels and a bigger fuel cell but was very eye catching and sweet. JJ needed do something a little more unique because some of his older bikes were better looking. Otherwise another quality build. Sr didn't build a bike.

I think the wheel size was only chosen to get the propellers closer to scale.
