Big rust buckets though but would love to have one.
Got a link to the story?

There was a dealership in Waterville Ohio back when I was little that must have been abandoned in the late 70s.

A and B bodies were all I could see inside that building.. with what I later found out to be a lightly used 1971 Chevelle SS still sitting on the dealership floor..never moved.

Why it hadn't been jacked and stolen over all those years I have no idea..

They don't have a clue of what to do.

There have never been so many unsold units - ever.

Seas, and seas, of cars built for stock, or ordered by people who could not get financing.

Or by people who lost their jobs, or became fearful of losing their jobs.

The dumping ground for cars is wholesale auction.

They may end up there, but what are these overbuilt units worth?

A 2009 Corvette that stickers for $55,000, is rotting by the thousands right now.

That same Corvette will pull around $38,000 once titled (used), even with only 2 miles on it.

Who's gonna be dumb enough to pay even $50k, for a car worth $38k - maybe. If you can find a buyer.

Most dealers won't even take a Corvette or Truck on a trade now.

It's a huge mess that will play out over time.

Talk about dealer hanging on the cars, there was a local P-B-GMC dealer here who often had 1, 2, 3 and even 4 yr old new cars/trucks on his lot or stashed inside his big building. He was a stubborn old coot, would never take a loss on anything. It was always said about them that they would never sell anything unless the made a $$. When he finally retired about 2004ish at 70 yrs old he sold his franchises to a local Chevy dealer for $100,000 each. I know the owner of the Chevy dealer who bought him out (cars and parts) and he said they had parts so old they could not figure out what they fit. He was sitting on a 4 yr old 2000 Park Ave in storage, he kept it. One of his sons took a 2 yr old GMC truck and his granddaughter (only one in the business who ran the office) got a Grand Am. They also had a GTO but I don't know what happened to that, I was offered it at a bargain price by my friend the Chevy dealer. They said GMAC never had any interest in his floor plan, all financed by him and the local bank which he was on the board of. He was a GM dealer since the 1950's, and he never had a GM sign anywhere on his lot in my lifetime. He went to high school with a person who was very high up in Buick management so they left him alone. They say he sold a lot of vehicles over the years and he was always the only salesman.

He was the salesman, one son ran parts and service, other son was a tech, his grandson was a tech and his granddaughter ran the office. He would never touch a computer. I tried to buy a truck from him once, it was a ordered vehicle and he had to make $1000 over invoice or no deal.

I tried finding it but couldnt. It may bea youtube video. I dont remember. But there are plenty of videos on youtube about barn cars. I dont know if I saw one here but there was a video of a 86 camaro never driven. taken from the lot and put in strage up until this year. The thing was covered in dust and all the wrap was still on in the inside. So basically its a brand new antique since it was sold this year. Antiques 25 plus years for cars correct?

Autotrader listing of 2007 Model Year New Cars.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/search...=1239764397510

Willing to bet if you went to any of these dealerships, you could get quite a good deal on one of them.

They're due to start building 2010 Corvette's in about 8 weeks. Unless they delay the changeover.

Soon the 2009's are year old leftovers too.

There are 985 new 2008's, 6008 new 2009's and even some 2007 Corvettes left.

I think a 2007 model shouldn't be considered and sold as a new car anymore.

I think some new Cavaliers were sold last year (2005 was the last year for them).
