I have severe cluster headaches and as much as many will disagree with it's use it is legalized for medical use in CO, marijuana, or the synthetic version marinol, is about the only thing that lets me even get out of bed when they hit.

I'm a 3rd generation Migrane guy... THANKFULLY I don't have them very often at all any more.

Obviously finding the trigger is the biggest thing you can do.

As much as you work out you might think about the muscle tension in your neck...

Lately mine are triggered from tension in my neck and shoulders... so as soon as I feel one coming on, I take some BC powder... and it works wonders.

But once it gets full blown... the best thing is sleep and water or gatorade.

Also you may need to up your vitamin intakes...

if after that none of it works... you should absolutely see the doctor...

I remember my mom asking me to set the end of our couch on her head while she laid on her side on the floor.... she said it was the only thing that wold relive the pressure....

Good luck man!

I have a prescription for Amerge - available as a generic too!! I take
one of those and 2 Excedrin migraine and lay down with a ice pack on
the back of my neck. Best remedy so far. Talk to your doctor.

I used to get them a lot. Then I figured out caffeine helped to make them go away (hello lots of cokes and redbulls lol) . Along with being well hydrated. Drinking lots of water is very important. I got one a couple weeks ago....so I walked over to the coke machine and got a diet coke. Took a few sips of water while I was at it. Drank the coke. Then shortly after I got a cup of coffee. Then let that settle for about 30 minutes and drank a bottle of water. Then it went away. I hardly take medicine for a headache anymore. Hope this helps.

I was diagnosed when I was 5. Unfortunately both sides of my family are plagued with them. I ended up with a rebound headache that put me in the hospital in 1990 from eating too many Excedrin over several days of suffering. A MRI showed a small tumor-like spot in my cerebellum. I call it my ticking time bomb because there is no predicting what it will turn out to be or when if anything at all. I'm just thankful for each day.

I see a neurologist regularly and take Zomig for the headaches. Best drug ever! I can have a full on headache and take the meds. An hour later it's like it never happened. :party0048:

I recently started using Sumavel DosePro (prescription from dr) and it works pretty good. I have had migraines since I was a kid. I like this one because it knocks out the headaches without any pain medicine. I can still go about my day and not be "doped" up... If you end up at the Dr.'s office, maybe ask about it?
