After my Pfadt diff bushings were installed it sounded like there was a supercharger under the rear seat......it was unbearable!
Turns out that my rear was about to let loose and had to be rebuilt, thankfully under warranty at my dealer.
I still can hear some gear whine from my rebuilt rear but, I would consider it faint and it probably would be gone with some better fluid.

If it's that loud that it's annoying you have a problem inside the case.

Was the noise from yours all the time or just at certain speeds.

I had the solid Pfadt sub-frame mounts installed and had no noise whatsoever. I later installed the Pfadt diff bushings and the gear noise became much more pronounced but I know the underlying problem was always there. I've since done a few fluid changes using GM fluid and limited slip additive and it is getting better. I've also noticed some cars we do here make more noise than others and we have customers with Pedders bushings that also make noise. I wouldn't say it would be related to one manufacture or another but rather the clearances in some of the diffs themselves.

Mine seems to "hum" in the 60-70 MPH range more than anywhere else.

Kind regards,

Just got back from the dealership, dropped the car off to get the rear end rebuilt under warranty. Will see what they have to say or do, took the service manager for a ride and even he thinks the sound is not right.

Should be interesting to see what they find and do.

They are going to rebuild the rear under warranty, the acceleration side the pinion tooth pattern is running on the bottom of the ring gear.

It is amazing what a soft factory bushing will mask!! I'm glad they're handling it for you!

I thought so too, service manger was cool he said he will cover it this time but not the next, so stronger diff is needed now. Waiting on parts now.
