I almost didn't notice the KPH, lol. But that's a "little" 1900... Think what a little more boost with a 2.3, 2.8, or 2.9...

Very nice purchase, man

The problem with Ford and GM isn't that the engines don't exist, it is that they won't let you have them outside of limited cirumstances. Want big power and a regular cab, 2wd? You'll have to go to Dodge or Toyota.

yeah, like a dodge 1500 with an 8.4L V10 in it

More than one reason:

  • Price of diesel engines
  • People think diesels are noisy
  • Price of diesel fuel
  • People are stupid
I'm sure there are others

So they would have to strengthen them.
I thought you could get a 3/4 ton Suburban, maybe you can't anymore I don't know. But if so, it should be similar to a Silverado 2500 under the skin.

yeah.... old diesels maybe.... but the new ones are so different. We've got 2 Dodge 5500s with the 6.7L cummins, they're amazingly quiet compared to the ford's with the powerstroke...... atleast til you down shift it and hit the exhaust brake

When Americans see the FE ratings on this...

...with a diesel, I think perceptions will change.

Honestly, I think the vast majority of Americans are ready to accept and embrace the diesel engine, but it's the car companies that think Americans won't accept diesels.

If the Sonic came with out with an I4 turbo diesel I would be interested in it as a DD replacement.
