For me personally, if there were no options for a V6 or V8 in new cars down the road, that will put me in the market for an "old" 2005-2011 Chevy V6/V8 car like a Corvette or Camaro and i'd be looking to add a SC or TC. I get that gas mileage needs to improve but my commute isn't getting any farther so those high mpg standards and small motors don't directly benefit me. And this coming from the brother of a guy who owned a modded 08 Cobalt SS/TC that was making over 300hp and lb/ft. of torque on almost 30 lbs of boost.

Same here, I don't even really care for the v6. Also my .02 cents.

Heck, bring back the Vega so we can put a LS7 or LS9 in it.

The 2.0 turbo kicks ass in a 3000 lb Sky or Solstice. Add another 800 pounds and you've just wasted your money.

Agreed, it depends on the cubic inches of the power adder device. The graph shown shows the shape of the curves. Roots Supercharger is positive displacement device giving essentially flat even boost across the rpm range. Turbo shows the largest "hump" most affected by rpm. The graph shows 4 different size devices (cubic inches) the shape shows the rpm effect.

But a 6-cylinder option in the Camaro has been around since the beginning of F-Body geological time. So it's not really worth arguing.

Also, the Camaro had a 4-cylinder in the early 80's (1982-1984?) - In the form of the "Iron Duke" 2.5L 4 cylinder that made less than 100hp. It didn't sell well, not only because it was a slug, but because a 4-cylinder does not embody what a Camaro is. Neither does a 6, really, but every Pony car has always had a sixxer option.

With all due respect...

This is the dyno graph for the 2.0L Turbocharged LHU I-4 in the current Regal Turbo.

Peak torque is reached at just 2000 RPM.

i just saw the Regal GS on Motor Week and while it is a nice car...it gets crappy gas mileage for a 4 cylinder...19 city/27 hwy...that really sucks...my LS1 gets the same...

SOOCH - GO to your chevy dealer. One of the cruise models has the same engine as the HHR SS.
