if you lived around here it would be a possibility. But they are currently in the process of cleaning up the department. So hopefully it won't be like that much longer.

whatever you do dont get caught going 4 miles over the limit you will get pulled over in a heartbeat here.

lol i like this thread
technically a cop does need probable cause to pull you over but i've heard first hand accounts of people getting pulled over becuz the COP was a gear head.
Unfortunately i live in a city that DOES HAVE TICKET QUOTAS so at the end of the month everyone is on their toes lol my commute is on a stretch of I-95 that is only about 4 exits wide and their are 5 HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS around ALL the Time at any given time, someetimes 3, sometimes 2. (3 Chargers, 2 Crown Vics.) One time i 3 of them had someone pulled over all at once at differnet parts of the highway. At first i thought my light blue mustang would attract attention but so far i haven't had any problems, but i think if i get my Camaro i will definitely be doing no more than 5 over, becuz there is NO DOUBT IN MY MIND that i will GET NAILED !

Back when my parents bought one of the first Titans (gold color) on the road. We were pulled over because we "looked like we were lost"

Victory Red=Arrest Me Red?

Good thread....Just wondering if the old urban legend of bright red cars being cop magnets is true? I'm still debating between Victory Red and Aqua Blue, and leaning towards Red, but am paranoid that might invite trouble.

the only reason i can think of that bright colors (VR for instance) are cop magnets is that you will catch their eye before someone next to you in a darker colored car (CGM for instance). besides that won't matter if you aren't doing anything wrong

Nothing to be afraid of, except for the car crazy cops. Had it happen to a classmate with his CJ back in New Hampshire. Cop pulled him over and he thought it was because of the lack of doors and a noob cop.

Cop just wanted to check out the sweet jeep. They both lol'd. I'm actually waiting for this to happen to me..

Cops are not usually a problem up here...unless ur doin somthing wrong...i have been pulled over a couple of time when i was younger for speeding, thankfully i had some nice cops who knocked the ticket down to a 40 dollar fine and send me on my way. Now when i drive i dont pass 10 over (10 kph over...go metric system!) and i have never been pulled over, even passing speed traps.

I personally find that i don't feel the urge to speed anymore, its just dumb, you don't get where your going much faster and you run the risk of fines, points and raised insurance rates....its just not worth it, when i get my camaro im not going to pass 10 over....

there is a time and a place for speed...city streets are not one of them

Got a man on the inside.

I just don't take advantage of it.

When I first got my fourth gen I got pulled over and the cop pretty much told me that he absolutely loved the fourth gen F-Bods and that he just wanted to congratulate me and tell me to take care of it.

I thought that was pretty awesome.

Darn....But I guess I can handle the truth, just barely.....

Thanks for the insight. Good thing I know where most of the speedtraps are in TC area!

Red does draw attention. The very first time I ever flew, it was in a turbo-prop heading to Las Vegas. I don't know what altitude we were at, but not as high as a regular jet. Anyway, when I looked down at the cars below me, the only ones that caught my eye were the red cars. Even though some of the other cars were going faster, the red ones were the ones I noticed.

As far as getting pulled over in general, I used to get pulled over all the time in my T/A. Honestly, I wasn't doing anything wrong those times, and I never received any citations. The cops simply wanted to pull me over! In all but one, or maybe two of those times, it was a younger officer, just starting out. I almost kind of believe they were hoping that I'd run, so they could chase me. With the older, more experienced officers, I think either they were looking for somebody, or...looking to see just who's who for future reference.

Let's see, we already have 2 Vettes, 3 other Camaros, and a VERY noticeable yellow 72 Skylark convertible.....

We have probably already caught the attention of the cops around here a few times with no problems. So, when I finally do get a 5th gen, I'm not going to worry.
