and there was a sign in the doc office saying to please wait till end of sept for your flu shot, but everyone is giving them away / pushing them.

Oddest part is you think its gone, then it kick you in the gut.

Had tocall after hrs doc last night around 9pm I felt so bad, said to get right in.

by 1am I felt like a new man, felt so good I didn't want to sleep to enjoy it.

crashed at 6am, woke up at 10 to take pills, back to bed, woke up at 1pm feeling like crap sweating in the AC.

felt awful till almost 2 when I could not find a ride and had to dirve like a mad man to the doc, get there and no fever, don't feel great but not to bad right now but.....

Its like waves on a beach

Try super high doses of Vitamin C. It should help.

depends on which vaccine you get...FluMist (influenza vaccine) is a nasal administered vaccine that is attenuated live...so you should add that one to the list...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FluMist

and my pharmacy currently has the 2011-12 vaccine in stock and we are giving it to people who want it

and really there isn't a flu "season" so to speak...infections usually peak around Feb in the US but can vary....you can get the flu anytime of the year...although there is some debate as to whether or not you will be protected through the peak of the "season" if you get vaccinated early...current recommendations say to get vaccinated as soon as it becomes available (which usually had been in October in previous years) but came much earlier this year...

Also, if anyone is on here, and is over the age 65 there is a special high-dose flu vaccine just approved this year so make sure to ask for it when you get vaccinated....

"Attenuated" - not really the same, and you know that!!!! Plus, we were talking injecctables.....
The worst flu I ever had was in the "off" season, when a friend visiting from Australia picked it up on the plane on the way here. It was flu "season" in Australia... The way people travel these days makes the flu possible any time of the year. I was just saying that the true "season" for North America hasn't started yet....
On a side note, what the OP is describing is the flu - most people mistake other illnesses for the flu - the flu is an upper respiratory illness, primarily, with fever/chills and body aches. Sometimes, stomach "issues" can go along with it, but not commonly...
I hope you're starting to feel better!!!!

There are two types that I am aware of? Attenuated, live vs inactivated? I was saying there is a live influenza vaccine called FluMist...which just about no one gets......

You are right though...flu shots are all of the inactivated variety....
