No, the SS. The 370Z will hang with an SS to 60 mph, and trail it a bit in the 1/4. Braking is nearly a wash between them and the 370 will have an advantage when it comes to handling over the SS. Around a road course, the SS will again have an advantage powering out of a turn which may or may not offset the gains the Z would have in the corner. The winner would depend on just how tight the course is, assuming equal drivers.

In no way is the 370Z considered a supercar!!!

That term is reserved for high HP and low production cars like the ZR1.

On a roadcourse, I think the extra 100HP would give the SS an advantage, but only on longer courses like Road America or maybe Laguna Seca. I can't think of one reason why the SS and 370Z shouldn't be compared other than one is practical and the other isn't.

Maybe a lightweight SS will be able to put up a better fight in the handling department.

I would be shocked to see the SS anywhere near the Z on road tracks.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
