In my experience it is cheaper getting quotes online. Some of the top insurance companies offer discounts when ordering online, because it is less work for them. But to be safe you could compare rates online, pick the best offer and try a local agency to see if they can match it or do better: average motorcycle insurance rates

All of my insurance (cars, truck, house, jewelry) is with State Farm - but they couldn't come close to Progressive's premiums.

You are a high risk though (age 22, little driving experience riding a crotch rocket). Good advise above on getting a used bike. Good Luck.

I wouldn't call a Yamaha Stryker a crotch rocket.....quite the opposite.

dairlyland is the way to go......they have been in the motorcycle insurance business when others wouldn't even touch a bike.....been using them for about 30 years.

OT but have you looked at the Harley's?

For the price of the Stryker you could have more bike in the Dyna series. Street Bob or Dyna Wide Glide come to mind.

There are deals to be had on end of year models right now.

Forgot to mention the Harley resale value is much better as well vs. a Jap bike.
