Anyone with an auto trans have an underdrive pulley that bumped up the idle? I'm thinking about changing the battery to a lightweight battery anyway.....but I'm unsure which one to get. I want something with more output than the stocker. It kinda turns over slow when it hot.

Maybe I'm totally off base here?
Don't know about the warranty but yea it was the OEM battery. I replaced it with Braille's 21lb no-weight battery. 24 pounds lighter than stock

Can you give me the part number for that battery? Did it seem to turn over quicker when starting it with that battery?

It's Braille B3121. I never had a problem with the car turning with the oem battery until the battery died so around the same , if you look at the specs though, the cranking amps are quite good for the braille

Sounds like L99 cars are right there at the line where any underdrive pulleys could possibly cause a issue. Our shop L99 car never didn't have this problem. We offer overdrive alt. pulleys in case any L99 guys decide they want one while doing underdrive pulley swaps.

True but it delivers nearly 1400 amps for the first 3-5 seconds for cranking

It was definitely your stereo. I havean under drive pulley, stock alternator pulley and a Braille 15 lb battery (30 lbs lighter than stock) and mine is doing great! Also I operate my top multiple times a day so I'm sure that takes quite a bit of power.

Are you saying the OEM battery weighs 45 pounds?
Whenever I replace a battery I get the one with the highest CCA rating that will fit the battery compartment. The less you strain the battery at startup the longer it will last.
I installed a 850CCA battery in my 89 Chevy truck and it lasted for 8 years.

I have a SLP Underdrive Pulley in my car and have gotten the Battery Saver message a few times while sitting around at an idle. Never had a dead battery problem though.
