If they remove the tint and clean the old adhesive off. Thats a fair price. Cleaning it off sucks, I have done it. But if they tint over the old tint, kinda high. Why don't you do it yourself, the tint can be bought at OReillys or any auto store, theres a ton of videos on Youtube on how to do it. I did my sides and quarters and windshield brow in about 2 hours total. And it cost me about 40 dollars.

I payed $135 for 35% on sides and back...and 5% stripe on the front windshield.

Lifetime warranty. Great job, no problems after year and a half.

I have 5% all around on my 2010 SS, 2001 SS and my 86 Recaro T/A. It does take getting used to but I have no issues driving at night. If necessary, I occasionally roll down my windows if im backing into a spot at night. If im gonna risk a ticket for tint I might as well go as dark as I want. $100 for the swap isn't bad considering they have to strip off the old, clean the windows and reinstall. Luckily, my girls cousin owns a stereo / tint shop and did all my cars for $100 a car lol

Not any more! LOL.

While on the subject...I have ceramic tint on my side windows--don't know the %--but it always looks like there is dust on the window when sun is shining through it. The glass is clean--both inside and out--but it always looks dusty. Is this normal for ceramic tint film? I was told it reflects heat better than standard film, and it does seem to do that pretty good, I just wish it were darker and cleaner looking.

People will complain about bumping old threads. Then they complain that you don't do a search. LOL. Can't win.

Any way if you want your tints darker start with the rear window. I have 35 on the sides and 20 on the rear. Gives the appearance at certain times of being 20 all around. So if you ever want to go lower from 20 all around do the rear first at 5. Less expensive to redo also.

Okay guys, I'm going to get my windows tinted to 35% (max legal limit) on my 2011 LS but I also want to get rear window louvers too; so, do people usually tint the rear window even with louvers over it? Do people tint the front and rear at all? Would it look weird to have non-tinted under louvers when the other windows are tinted?

Thanks

i would personally tint your rear window.. as for fronts, not a lot of people do it it IMO.. in VA its illegal unless you get a strip for the top (which im not a fan of) or 70% with a prescription, which is useless anyway.

i would get your rear installed, probably gonna have to take the louvers off for that trip so they can measure accurately

I have 5% all around on both my 2010, and 2001 SS's. No issues driving at night. Occasionally I may roll the window down if im backing into somewhere dark. Other than that, ive never had an issue.
