supermotos are fun. I had a Husky 510 with FI and it rocked. I couldnt seem to keep the front wheel down! For commuting, it was not the best. Twitchy setup and too light for bags. I'd consider a KTM 690 or 990 for street duty. The 400 DRZ was just too small for me and the 510 had plenty of go but was to race oriented for commuting duty. For around town, it was awesome!
Guy at church has a kawi concours with hardbags. I was drooling over it this morning... |

To keep your body happier over longer than crosstown traffic distances, get yourself a kidney belt. Don't know what it is? It's a wide belt, often of leather, that the rider wears around his waist and a bit higher on his torso. It resembles the belt some weight lifters wear.
The purpose of the motorcycle rider's kidney belt is to minimize the jolts and vibrations of the road on the internal organs of the body. Shakin' up the entrails, especially the kidneys, is not good for the overall wellbeing of the body. Wearing a belt will make you feel less stressed and fatigued after a long putt. |

I commute on my 05 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe, and have been bike commuting since about 98. Good way to keep the miles off of the other rides, and get great gas mileage.
