I'm a major hip hop guy myself, and it's just a fun game. They have a similar game with nothing but breakbeats and whatnot with a normal ps2 controller called FLOW. The guitar is a new concept and you don't look like a fool playing GH as opposed to DDR where you flail about aimlessly. |

We went to Sams club to do some shopping and they had the whole set up. It was for guitar hero III. It was priced at $76, I think. I tried it out. It's def not like playing the real thing....but, it's actually pretty cool and got addicting.
I was contemplating picking it up. Question...If I buy guitar hero III, can I go back and buy just the disc for guitar hero II and I and not have to but the entire set w/ guitars and all? I'd rather buy the III guitar and have it compatible to the others w/out having to spend an arm and a leg for all the games. |

You can buy the disc only versions. Only reason I haven't picked up the new one is because I have PS2 guitars from Games 1 and 2 (bought guitar with GH2 to play multiplayer with the g/f).

I only have PS2. They have the guitars and games for PS2, right?

right. GH1 is only for the PS2, GH2 is for PS2 and Xbox360, and GH3 is for everything. The guitars work the same across each game (as long as it's for the right system). I would suggest getting two guitars so you can play multiplayer if the need arises. Other than that, the different games are basically just for new play lists.

I love my guitar hero. I was really happy with the song selection in guitar hero 2, and the difficulty level... Guitar hero 3 is really thrash-centric, I enjoyed the melodics in gh2. However there are a lot of amazing songs in GH3, 3's & 7's, Impulse, One, Through the Fire and Flames, The Metal, etc. etc. Real enjoyable songs to listen to and play.
I suggest everyone try it before they buy it though, it's a big investment.
