Yeah, but I think he wants something like the 2.0L Turbocharged ECOTEC I-4 in there.

Oh ok

well for the SS they should give the body a few tweaks give it more of a aggressive stance new front fascia, also, different tail lights, sporty interior, small spoiler(like the camaros rs spoiler)

basically the exterior should look like the jinx's SS cruze concept PS

Maybe. One of GM's recently 'postponed' projects was a North American facility to produce this powerplant, leaving only the European assembly line for the same meaning that GM will have to pay for the cost of importation on top of the European assembly site making the engine notably more expensive to build compared to assembly anywhere in North America. And of course, one site of assembly limits availability, particularly so when you consider that the 1.4L turbo will be the sole engine offered in the Volt.

Unless GM manages to reverse those cancelled plans for US assembly I would suspect a much higher percentage of the more conventional Ecotec four cylinders we already have and a much lower percentage of the newer 2.4L GTDi four than GM initially planned.

But a Cruze SS along the lines of the Cobalt SS won't happen. The engineering team that was behind that little monster has been disbanded.

Ah, but V-tech is worth an automatic 10 hp, 15 if you have a sticker that advertises it

Don't worry, production of the 1.4L engines for the Cruze and Volt will still occur in the United States in an existing GM facility.

Damn those are so nice but is it just me or does the front look too much like a GTI?

Not excited about this car, its going to be nice but probably come out and be a disappointment like most. The interior is definitely alot nicer than previous attempts though. I just do not like the exterior styling, they are trying to toss in their own look while copying others but than again, thats the going theme these days in auto designing aside from a few.

Definitely sounds nice. I think it will compete well against the Civic and Corolla, while the Euro Focus from Ford would be an alternative to the Mazda. While I prefer sportier, dull but practical seems to be what sells to Americans, so it could do well. Of course, an SS model with performance similar to the Cobalt SS would be great, but given GM's shunning of anything to do with future performance, I doubt we'll see that.
