One of his favorite TV shows was That 70's Show. He thought Red was awesome. Red always called Eric a dumbass. It kinda became our thing. I knew I had screwed up, but not enough to get in any trouble when he'd look at me, smile and just say "dumbass."

I called him at like 3AM when that happened. He picked up the phone and I said "Dad, I'm at my friend's place. No one is hurt and we're all OK, but the Bronco is totaled." He got up, dressed and came down to get me. He got out of the car, looked at my Bronco buried in the ground, smiled and just said "dumbass."

The Bronco was my senior graduation project, earned me an A and an award for best senior project and product. I put hundreds of hours of work into it only to have it for about 3 weeks before trashing it. I have since owned two more, haha.

I'll have to dig up some pics of it, my first vehicle was a '85 Trans Am. After blowing up the stock 305, I built a 383 stroker motor with nitrous. It dyno'd @600hp .. Needless to say, I went fast

I didn't own a car in High School. I graduated in 1981, but in 1980 and 81 I was driving my parents cars when they'd let me. One was a 1980 Mazda 626 and the other was the 1980 Mazda B2000 pickup (essentially a Ford Courier). Eventually they bought a V.W. Bug but my brother mostly drove that. Soon I went to college and bought my first car in 1982 - A 73 Dodge Charge SE with a 383. Within 2 months that engine blew, and was eventually replaced with a 440 magnum. 6 months later, the car ended up under a flat bed pickup on Sunset Blvd in California.

I fire up the willing engine, responding with a roar. Tires spitting gravel I commit my weekly crime.

High school car back then and still to this day, paid $25.00 for this 1966 Impala SuperSport Convertible in 78. Drove in the Indiana winter with no top cause I blew it off (rotten) racing a 67 GTO. Would do anything not to ride the bus to school and froze to death every morning 9 miles out
