Cadillac needs to know their role here, this is suppose to be a global chassis meaning, it is shared with other vehicles. Caddy starts requesting stuff and it naturally adds weight to the chassis and now its over 500lbs of excess that wasn't there before they started. I think its time that the Camaro share a platform with the Corvette, cost are getting ridicules anyway. Hell... a Corvette Grand Sport and a Camaro SS have almost the same MSRP anyway, why not just go for it... It still would reduce cost as it still would be global, but then the Corvette guys aren't going to have anything to do with that...

I hear you on that one man, the Zeta may be heavy but it is something the Alpha is not... PAID FOR. The Zeta isn't bad either and I think if GM could focus the Zeta chassis on just the Camaro, they could get much more out of it when the time comes to redesign the Camaro. It will be a 6th Gen Camaro but on a revised 5th Gen chassis... It worked on the Mustang with the Fox body that eventually redesigned the Fox body chassis for the SN95 Mustang's and continued until 2004. Corvette also has been using literally the same chassis since 1984.

There is more mis and incorrect information in that article than any I've seen in quite a while.
Apparently "6 or 7 insiders" each giving just a bit of wrong information adds up to total credibility. I call material that comes from the back end of a male cow.

I believe it's 55 for a GS, 49 for a base Corvette. Now with current deals.........that's another story.
