Last I heard, 5th Gen owners were younger men and older men but in Canada, 50% of 5th Gen owners were women. The Mustang club here in Germany (Mighty Mustangs) have 2600 members, over 2200 of those members are married men and a large majority let their spouses drive their car. Some of the female members that do own the Mustang are beautiful... Its difficult to actually determine the ratio in which what gender buys which vehicle but it is no secret, women do love Mustangs far more than the Camaro. There are obviously more women that own the S197 than women own the 5th Gen. There are more female owned S197 Mustang than there are total 5th Gen Camaro's. There are also 3 times the amount of Mustangs owned by males than the total amount of 5th Gen Camaro's. This was a problem recognized by GM as the sales ratio was around 70% male and 30% female. GM produced a Superbowl commercial that portrayed an exciting, high speed chase in which the driver was a woman. Naturally, sales should be 50/50 but it seems that a large portion of women do not find a V8 engine attractive. This is hurting the Mustang right now as the V6 and V8 sales are split 50/50. Those would only account for single women though, married couples are typically joint owners of the vehicle.

I personally would want a car that attracts women more than men, the last thing I need is being stopped at a red light and someones manhood pressed up against my drivers side window.

and for the record, I do not allow my wife to drive my car...

Translation: you drive a girly car.

I agree. I see a lot of old men or women in 'stangs. I was behind a girl in a new red mustang the other day while entering the gate to our apt complex. She ran up on the curb WITH BOTH WHEELS to scan her gate pass b/c she was too busy yanking on the phone to care about her car . those are the kinds of women I see driving mustangs. No sense at all.

ETA: Around here, I have seen a lot of women in camaro's too tho. Most are blondes, hmmmm.

I do see a lot of women driving mustangs here, but usually they are clearly driving V6s.

When I see a mustang worthy of owning, its usually a guy driving it.

You really need to find a mustang forum...

either that or get a PR job with Ford.

If I dumped a pile of manure in your driveway and put a blue oval on it, you'd find it glorious and call it a prime example of how mustang is green, eco friendly and built entirely from natural materials...

I can't even begin to tell you how with each post you increasingly wear out your welcome here.

When the guy with the dark glasses and the bulge in his trench coat finds you this afternoon tell him I was just kidding. I can't seem to find his cell phone number right now or I'd tell him myself.

It has been my experience that groundhogs/quadrapeds prefer Chevrolet as well.

She starts to talk about how she always wanted a Mustang, blah blah blah...

And then I stopped her and said "NO - I meant my car!"

She wasn't amused. I made a kissy face at her and drove off.

I'm not sure I comprehend what "mustang worthy of owning" means....

Actually I see a younger guy driving one everyday (aside from the old dudes and chicks) - He looks like a fcking tool the way he drives in the passenger seat. He is every mustang owner sterotype out there. It's why the decent people that have mustang's get a bad wrap.
He does make me laugh at him everytime I see him though
