I retired mine as a DD in January when I started my new job. Got something a little less lavish than a Land Rover, a Fiesta for fuel economy.

We'll see if I regret the purchase later on down the road.

I had the option of using my SS for my work vehicle but since the new job is selling timeshare, and in the last week not only did someone puke in another sales rep's car but someone else crapped their pants in a different sales reps car....

So finding a relatively low mileage 4 door that I had even the slightest bit of interest in driving had to happen and fast.
Just make sure you have barf bags and lots of toilet paper with you, you know just in case.

Keep the GF, and Land Rover. Just get new insurance. The kind that only insures you as the driver and no one else. That should fix things. I will get that insurance to piss off would be hangers-on hoping to actually drive it. Then I'll say 'Sorry brother, only me drive 'em, you ride 'em.'

Hah! I think that about sums it up. Add in the repair cost, the horrible fuel mileage, and paying extra insurance premiums because it's a 4x4 with more associated rollover risk.

They are nice to look at, and have good offroad specs, but owning one...yeesh! Best of luck to you!

My 1990 Suburban is on par with that. It has the latest and greatest technology all wrapped up in a nice 6K lb bundle, 5.7 liter with TB injection and speed density.....

It's supposed to get 11/16, but I have not driven it enough to tell how close that is.

11/17 ??

You should have bought a nicely-used Jeep Wrangler 14/19

Good luck, there's a Range Rover dealer across from my Jeep dealership, and it never fails while waiting for my Jeep regular maintance, here comes a Range Rover etc on a tow bed.Sometimes I'll catch three being towed in

Would have loved to get a 4 door JK, but having had an 06 Unlimited Rubicon I would have wanted another Rubicon.
And the JK's cost between $6k and $8k more around here than the Discovery, and those where not the Rubicons.

But knowing what I do about Land Rovers, I went ahead and begrudgingly bought an extended warranty from the dealership.
It has free towing.

Oh yeah, we have some real classy people taking the timeshare presentation sometimes.

The mobile detail guys even know the tour schedule and show up when everyone starts coming back to the presentation center.

Can I sleep on your couch when I inform my fiancée that we're trading in her LR3 for a Ford Fiesta?? But in all seriousness, I would like one of them to be more fuel efficient but I'm not willing to give up the fun or utility of my V8's. Life's too short to drive a compact
