name suggestions

ya I know! and no, we don't want it to be stupid, we want a name that just by telling people the name of our band they know that we arent a bunch of mindless goons pretending to play instruments, which isn't the case (the drummers been playing drums for 13 years, me and my brother have been playing since december, but are better than many guitar players that have been playing for years, and our bass guitarist has been playing for I don't know how long, but is definantly good at it) we want a name that makes people take us seriously for who we are, and I don't think that's gonna happen unless we come up with it ourselves, and making this thread made me realise that heres really no way of making a name, you have to just stumble upon it. Well, I was serious to know what you guys have come up with. If you would have mentioned one or two names, that would have meant to me that you might have been tossing around a couple of potential band names. With those, we could have given you some input on the best sounding or best fit names for your band. Personally, I think this is something that the band needs to sit down and come up with. It should be meaningful and have some sort of history behind it. It is kind of like the personality of the band should make up the name. Anyway, good luck with coming up with a name!

And while I was typing up my message, you said pretty much the same! Great job, skid. You'll come up with a name soon that everyone can agree on. There's probably going to be one guy in the band who won't like it, but it'll come to you!

it'll probably be blues, our drummer (yes his name is blues, actually his middle name is blues, his first name is even worse, his parents used to be hippies) he doesn't like anything that doesn't contain poop, fire or farts, but that's just who he is

Here in Omaha we have a morning radio show called Todd & Tyler. Throughout the show, when something funny or unique or something is mentioned, someone says that it sounds like a band name. They started doing the Todd & Tyler Great Band Names awhile back.....heres the list of them so far....maybe there's one for you.....

Blues would be a cool name, but don't think it would work if you're playing rock. That would just throw everyone off, if ya know what I mean.

god silverado, what radiostation do you listen to porno talk radio or something?? and no, tag, blues wasn't a suggestion for the band, it's our drummers middle name, the one he goes by, which is a better name that Ari, his first name

yeah your right...you do just stumble across it. I remember the last band i was in before the one i'm in now...we were trying to come up with a name and it was getting to all of us. i would just drive down the street and everything i saw i would say to myself a few times to see if it had a ring. And we all sat down so many times brain storming writing down the first thing that came to mind. Then one night we were all out drinking and one of my buddy's asked for a light...i tried to light his cig but for some reason it just wouldnt light right. He told me "man burn the end of this damn thing already" and i looked at him funny and he knew why. He then said..."ladies and gentleman...BURN THE END". And that was that! Another thing you wanna consider is to make sure noone else has the name. Lucky for us noone on the planet had that name. The band i'm in now is called AUTOSTATIC and noone has that name either. It pays to be unique!

ha, that remindes me of how led zepplin got their name they were telling this guy about there band or something , he said "that should crash like a lead zepplin" ant that was how they stumbled upon that.
