I had a 2010 Traverse 2LT sunroof, moonroof, back up camera in the rear view mirror, and a lot of other bells and whistles, I loved that car (truck), but I love my camaro more, but I would recommend them highly if you are in the crossover market.

Camaro SS & a Traverse
We own both a Camaro SS & a Traverse. Sadly, we get low MPG. But the important thing my wife loves the car.

I own both a 2011 Camaro & a 2010 Traverse. Love both. Have only had one minor issue with the Traverse and that was just a leaky rear washer fluid hose. Fixed ASAP and not one other issue. Have 14,500 on it. The only negative would be my wife vastly prefers my XM display unit over hers. Other than that it is pretty quick for such a huge vehicle. It is very deceiving in size. From outside it does not appear as big as it really is in the drivers seat. We can comfortably fit 7 adults and still have room in the back. 3rd row folds very easy and 2nd row slides forward nicely to make a ton of room. Cargo space is more than my wifes 05' Odyssey had.
I highly recommend it. I drive both several times a week. The only hard part for me is the actual driving position is so vastly different between the two it's still hard to get used to. Nothing but positives from us though. My wifes lifetime avg is 19MPG and is typically right around that number on each fillup. 75% City driving 1LT with towing package but never tow anything. Typically her and 2 7yr olds in the car for an idea of real world mileage. |

My wife bought her 2011 Traverse two days after I bought my other Camaro. She loves it and we haven't had any problems with it. LTZ model is great! She got the video and captain's chairs in the rear rather than the bench (Yuck)..

We just got the wife a granite LTZ AWD. Traded a LTZ Burban in on it, for better gas mileage. It does get a lot better mileage on the highway but it still sucks around town. Ours is loaded and looks like the burb on the inside. Seats aren't as comfy as the burb but it's got more get up and go. It also stops considerably better than the burb. The wife seems happy with it although she misses her burb. Just doesn't miss filling it up.

My wife had a 2010 Traverse LTZ. She never did really care for the style or handleing. We stopped by the Jeep dealer last Dec. We drove the 2011 Grand Cherokee. The differance was like night and day. Needless to say, she bubbeling 6 months later and swears her 2011 Cherokee is the greatest SUV ever. Jeep got this one right the first time. Plenty of power and fantastic styling and solid quality. Check them out side by side. Test drives will tell you, Jeep is back in the game.

my wife has the LTZ with the leather seats in 'cashmere'. The only issue we have had is discoloring of the driver seat. The back of the seat keeps 'faiding' to black, has happened twice now, not sure if we have a badly finished leaher seat or if this is an issue in them all - feedback?

I had a 2009 Traverse 2LT. Loved it! Needed a pick up though so traded it in. You'll be very happy with it!

My DD is a 2010 AWD LTZ. Great vehicle. I love it. Lots of room. Great in the snow. Perfect for traveling. 20 + mpg on the highway. Great family vehicle.

We have the front wheel drive. It does good in the snow. If you are somewhere where you will get a TON of snow, then you might want the AWD.
Ours is the 8 passenger version. We bought ours 2 months before I took delivery of my camaro. In two years, my wife has racked up almost 50,000 miles on it. All of which have been trouble free.

Thanks for the info everyone. Here is my deal......I have a back issue that I have had for 20 years. At first the camaro fit me just fine, but now everytime in sit in it almost immediatly my back is killing me. I dont even like driving it anymore because of that reason.
the traverse on the other hand does not make my back hurt at all. If i do this I am trading my camaro, and my 2006 silverado vortec max to get it. The only issues I have read about on these things is the fuel milage, and a tranny problem. I just dont know what to lol..........I love my camaro, but if I cannot drive it what is the point? |
