If you are interest in putting your skills to the test you might be albe to find a local SCCA chapter in your area. Events are regulated and it is all legal like. Here is the website to get started.
I like this sport more than the drags and parts don't break as often so the hard work lasts longer and it improves driving abilities and skills.

Awesome. Thanks a lot. This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for. For this kind of racing, do you guys recomend the Pontiac GTO because of its IRS or is the LS1 Fbody still a great car for this category?

F-bodies are good when they have suspension/brake work done to them like my last camaro had.

GTO's handle great stock and the LS2 GTO's have Brembo Brakes stock I believe.

I started autocrossing my WRX when I was 20. I bought a CBR sport bike when I was 21 and raced that for years. Remeber, when racing your maintenance will cost you plenty! Tires/Brakes/fluid changes etc...

I dropped my bike at 110, that was a $3,000 repair!

yeah, got to be very careful or your wreck your self in to a wall

I ripped the side off a Skip Barber Formula Dodge at Limerock park... Luckily theres an insurance policy or I woulda been on the hook for $6000.....
